What kind of company is Okabe Valve Industries?
Founded in 1935, we are a specialized trading company that has dealt with piping materials and housing equipment for approximately 90 years. We support the essential infrastructure for daily life, such as water and air systems.
What industries and clients do you work with?
We primarily work with construction companies, builders, and facility management firms. Our products are used in a wide range of locations, including public facilities, apartments, and private residences.
Is the business resistant to economic fluctuations?
Since we handle lifeline-related materials, demand is stable, allowing us to maintain steady management for many years.
About Work & Positions
Does the sales position involve cold calling or door-to-door sales?
No, it does not. Our sales are primarily route sales, which involve visiting and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
Is it really okay if I have no prior sales experience?
Yes. Many of our sales staff started without any experience. We provide a 6-month to 1-year training period where a senior colleague will support you one-on-one.
Will I be expected to handle sales on my own immediately after joining?
No. Initially, you will learn about product knowledge and workflow through internal desk work and by accompanying senior staff on visits before gradually becoming independent.
I’m worried about being able to memorize so many products.
You don’t need to memorize everything from the start. We provide an environment where you can gradually gain knowledge through your daily tasks.
Working Style & Environment
Is there a lot of overtime?
As a guide, overtime is generally within 20 hours per month. Computers are automatically shut down at 7:00 PM to prevent long working hours.
Please tell me about holidays and leave.
Basically, we are off on weekends and public holidays. Annual paid leave is also easy to take, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
Are there job transfers involving relocation?
In principle, there are no transfers. Assignments are made considering personal preferences and place of residence.
What specific DX (Digital Transformation) initiatives are being taken?
We are improving operational efficiency by introducing AI-driven logistics management, as well as sales management and support systems.
